Disclaimer: This item was provided to me for free by Influenster in exchange for a review of my honest review of this product.

I've always been able to sleep for hours with no problems. However, now that I'm in my adulthood years, I've been more stressed and therefore have reached a point in my life where I'm sleeping less than the recommended numbers of hours per night. Some people don't need the 8 hours but some people need that much to function. Unfortunately for me, my two designer bags are always hanging around my eyes throughout the weekdays and my body takes a mental toll disbarring me from performing at my strangers.

When I received the email to be a participant of Vick's new ZZZQuil, I jumped at the chance to maybe change my sleep a bit. I'm not one to take sleeping pills but I thought, "What the heck"? After taking the samples, man do I wish I had tried this a lot earlier!

I slept the full 8 hours without waking up once! I don't think I've slept like that in years..and on the plus side, I did not oversleep for work! I did not get a fuzzy or drowsy effect either.. It was like I was reborn again.

If anyone out there have sleeping problems, I will def. recommend them zzzquil. I mean, it doesnt hurt to try, right?

Glade has come out with new collections including it's Oil Diffusers and Fragrance Mists! It comes in four different scents which include Cotton & Italian Mandarin, Pineapple & Mangosteen, Fuji Apple & Cardamon Spice, and Lavender & Juniper Berry. I personally chose the Pineapple & Mangosteen for the Fragrance Mist and Fuji Apple & Cardamon spice for the Oil diffuser. Let me tell you how strong the scent is that I placed the oil diffuser in my living room and I was able to smell it all the way in the kitchen. It's such a pleasant smell and it also helps conceal unwanted cooking scents. The fragrance mist on the other hand also works really well to cover up unwanted odors and gives it a very home, warm feeling. They're really affordable and can be found at your local drugstores and Walmart/Target.

I know this isn't beauty related at all but I thought I'd share this guilty-free candy for all you sweet tooth out there.
As a Bzzagent, I received a coupon to try this candy out and review it.
First off, it's available at your local drugstore. I got mine at CVS pharmacy where it retails for a little over a dollar. (I was also provided with Buy One Get One coupons that I shared with my friends)
Out of all the choices that were available, I opted for the one that resembled little M&M's because I figured I don't have to finish it all in one day and I'm not really a fan of candy bars.
The one I chose is the dupe for the M&M chocolate covered peanuts but one thing I really like about this candy is that is has 3g of fiber! It's not something you usually find in your usual candy and it also has 6g of protein which I think the majority is from the peanuts. It's not as sweet as the usual candies since it only has 16g of sugar compared to 25g in M&M's. Although it may not seem like a lot, it's still 9g of difference.
This satisfies my sweet tooth without making me feel guilty if I decide to eat the whole package. Of course, I saved half for one day and half for the next day.

Try it out guys! Even if you don't like it, it's only a little over a $1 and you don't have much to lose. Who knows, maybe you'll even find this to be a favorite.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff.

I recently bought this at CVS where they had the buy one get one sale.
This is definitely my HG foundation. I'm Asian with a yellow undertone and the first shade I tried was Sand Beige. Although it does have a slight yellow undertone, it was not yellow enough for me so I had to move down to the second lightest shade, Buff, which is more neutral/yellow.

First of all, this foundation has amazing coverage! I washed my face, used my Clean & Clear Skin clearing Astringent and Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference moisturizer prior to applying this foundation. Before I actually applied the foundation, I let my moisturizer settle into my skin for about 5-10 minutes.
My personal preference on how to apply this foundation is using my Eco Tools foundation brush to apply it as oppose to using my fingers. I feel like using my fingers actually gives it a more cakey and streaky finish compared to a more even and nicer finish with a foundation brush. With one application, my acne scars were slightly covered. I have to go back with a concealer brush and conceal all my acne scars though. I don't like applying a second layer because I think it's too heavy for my skin.
To be honest, this foundation broke me out HORRIBLY when I first tried it out (this was during the winter time) but it has been a year since. It doesn't break me out anymore and it has become my HG foundation. I do set the powder with the Revlon Colorstay Aqua Mineral Powder. The combination of these two products are amazing.
My skin doesn't get oily throughout the day and I don't even have to touchup. After a 12 hour day in the humid weather, my T-zone's oil nature peeks through but that's expected. I really have no complaints. There's a small scent to it but it just smells like chemicals/makeup. I don't think it's anything that would bother anyone that much.
This foundation is harder to remove than most foundations but this is because of the staying power. I use olive oil or a cleanser that produces a lot of suds to remove it. Even then, I have to repeat the process twice or there are remnants of the foundations on my skin when I use my toner.

Overall, I recommend this foundation for people who need a little extra coverage :) I usually wait for CVS or Rite-aid to have this brand 40% off along with the coupons they offer. In the end, it's actually cheap to purchase it at my local drugstores compared to those big retailers such as Target/Walmart.

Covergirl & Olay 2 in 1 Tone Rehab Foundation & Pressed Powder

I received the Covergirl & Olay 2-in-1 Tone Rehab foundation in buff beige and Covergirl & Olay Pressed Powder in fair/light as a bzzagent.
First off, I was attracted to the nice swirly design and the pump that was included in the packaging. I've never used a foundation that has a pump and I really liked it. It doesn't really matter to me though.
Before applying the foundation, I washed my face, used a toner and moisturized it. I found that this routine actually makes my face too oily. The second time around, I cleansed my face and just used a toner before I applied the foundation. This worked better for my skin.
The application is smooth and evens out my skin's discoloration upon the first application. I could see that my skin was even compared to before I applied the foundation. I was really surprised because I only used about half a pump. I also have acne scars so the second application hid my scars and gave it an almost full coverage look. It didn't look too cakey or oily at all. Of course, I had to set my foundation with the accompanying powder.
After a couple hours in the humid weather here in the east, I noticed my T-zone was getting a bit oily, especially the area my nose. I took a oil blotting sheet to get rid of the oil. After that, I checked back in at night (8 hours later) and my skin wasn't shiny anymore. I'm not sure whether that was from the moisturizer that was in combination with the foundation or what but blotting once doesn't bother me much. Prior to trying this foundation, I had been using my Revlon Colorstay foundation in Buff. I had no problem with that foundation although it broke me out horribly the first time I tried it. I guess my skin got used to it and accepted the foundation. I also set my foundation with N.Y.C powder. (That also broke me out when I first used it but it doesn't anymore).
Comparing these two foundation, I definitely prefer the Olay foundation because it doesn't make me feel like I have a heavy layer of foundation on. It feels really light and my skin is able to breathe too. It also doesn't break me out and it matches my skin nicely. The accompanying powder also works really well and completes my look.
I'd recommend this foundation to anyone who is on the market to look for a new foundation to try. I've seen it at CVS for about $17 but I believe it's cheaper at other stores such as Target/Walmart. However, I'm sure there will be sales for these brands at your local drugstore so watch out for those.
For reference, I have acne prone/combination skin so I wouldn't know how it'd work for people with other types of skin. I think it works best for dry skin and not so well for oily skin. Let me know how it works for you guys if you guys tried it! :)

TAG: 16 Facts

Hello there.. if anyone ever reads this.
So I've been tagged by Mabeth's Makeup to do the 16 Fact blog. I apologize for the delay but I just got finished with finals! Survived my first semester in college! yippie haha

So here goes.

Fact..
1) I was born in Malaysia but I came to the U.S and started 2nd grade here.. so I cannot speak Malay. I can understand it a little.. but for the most part, I'm Chinese. My parents are Malaysian/Singaporean.. yep.
2) I speak Mandarin but I can also understand Canto, Taiwanese, and some espanol.
3) I am short.. 5'1 AND 3/4 ft. haha
4) I am a nursing major.. I hope to become a nurse practitioner in the future
5) I have two cats.. they are pretty fat. 14lbs and 18lbs. Need to be put on diets haha
6) I am a TVB drama addict.. always up to date with the latest dramas. Anyone else there like me?
7) My favorite youtube videos out there are the hairstyles.. not much of a makeup fan but I do wear foundation, mineral powder, concealer, eyeliner, mascara, and sometimes eyeshadow.
8) I have monolids.. well semi-monolids. My left eye will show the crease occasionally while my right eye is stubborn. How weird.. haha
9) I cannot swim.. took lessons when I was little and failed. Somehow I came to the conclusion long ago that it was because I was too heavy.
10) I am a vegetarian.. 4 years and still going strong. My family gave me the nickname "Fatima" which I find offensive to the Muslim world..Why the weird nickname? B/c of the "Halal" thing with the muslims.. they don't eat i think beef?
11) I was raised primarily by my granny.. even though she can be quite stubborn and unreasonable at times, I still love her :)
12) I'm pretty much a nice person to anyone that's nice to me also.. but to those that are just rude, I'll treat you the same. [like one time in the subway station, one kid bumped into me and told me to "watch it." Excuse me there kid, YOU bumped into me and then you say such a rude thing to me? ughh.. ]
13) Favorite chick flick of all times.. MEAN GIRLS hands down
14) Yankees, Knicks, Lakers, 6ers, + Jets.. the only sports team I follow. My third grade teacher got me into liking the jets and i've been a loyal fan ever since lol
15) I do not dorm.. but I wish I do. It would be nice to experience the college dorm life.
16) Smokers turn me off.. I hate hate HATE the smell of smoke. My perfect guy would be a nonsmoker, non drinker, and treats people with respect :)

Sorry if my facts bore you but anyway..

HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2008!!

P.S As for taggers.. I tag whoever just read this and hasn't done the tag yet :)

Review: Sedu 1" Straightener

Hey guys!
My Sedu 1" Straightener came in yesterday! I ordered it last Tuesday and it would have came on Saturday but UPS does not deliver on weekends. Still fast shipping though on folica.com
Two words.. LOVE IT! It does not snag my hair at all and it just glides through it. The plates are ultra smooth and folica also gave me a free iron pouch. I only paid $83 for this plus tax so it came to only $90 compared to $118 with tax right now. This straightener came with a TWO year warranty.. one year covered by the manufacturer and one year by folica. If you order right now, they are throwing in a mini Sedu Revolution Shorter which is dual voltage and only SIX INCHES! (picture below)
I was regretting ordering my Sedu so early but 6" is a bit small for me. My hair is pretty long and it would take forever to do it but for people who travel a lot, this 6" straightener would be perfect for you.. and for those little touch up you might need. I don't have it so I can't give it a full review but I'm sure people will start posting reviews on folica.com soon.

I'm really glad I ordered my Sedu 1" because there are so many different hairstyles you can do with it including flipping your hair in, flipping hair out, and best of all curling it! I tried curling my hair last night and honestly.. WOW! no snagging either! My curls looked so cute but my hair isn't that long year and curls won't look good on me..

The Sedu also has titanium plates which isn't mentioned on the website but it states so on the box. It comes with a free iron holder courtesy of folica.com and is great because this will prevent any burning or damage you might do to your countertop.

The temperature setting ranges from 240F to 410F. I set mine at 340F and it makes my hair so silky, shiny and smooth it was amazing.

Overall:
Design: 4/5 (The exterior gets a little hot)
Performance: 5/5
Price: 5/5
Final: 4.8/5

I hope this review has helped you guys in deciding whether or not to invest in this iron... I don't think you guys will be disappointed.

Physicians Formula Baked Smokey Wet/Dry Eye Shadow

All Physicians Formula products were on sale at both CVS and Walgreens this week. Since CVS was closer to me, I went to CVS and picked up Physicians Formula Baked Smokey Wet/Dry Eye Shadow.
As you can see, the shadows are shaped like a done and comes in a cute little compact case along with a small eye shadow applicator.
The shadows are also very pigmented! I tested it out and it has stayed on my lids for 8 hours.. yes.. EIGHT hours. Amazing!
With the 40% sale, this costs $4.79 down from their original price of $7.99.
This is perfect for anyone who is trying to create that smoeky look. Highly recommended.

Overall Rating: 5/5
Price: 5/5
Packaging: 5/5

Sedu Straightener

Guess what guys?
I placed an order for a new straightener!
Sedu Tourmaline/Ionic Ceramic Straightener!
Tourmaline is a moisture attractor which will make your hair shiny without damaging it.

It took me a long time to decide between the new Sedu 2008 Revolution and the Sedu Original 1" Tourmaline/Ionic Ceramic Straightener but I got the 1" original.
Why?
Well I read all the reviews for the Sedu 2008 Revolution and people have said that it pulls and snags their hair but the original doesn't. So that was how I decide.
You can make curls with both irons.. there is really no difference with the exception that the Sedu 2008 Revolution's exterior doesn't get as hot as the original. The heat temperature for the revolution ranges from 180F to 450F while the Sedu original heats up from 210 to 410F. I have asian hair so I use 340F.. temperature was not an issue for me.

I will write a review on the straightener after testing it out for a week.
Folica.com offers a 2 year warranty and comes with a heat stand. awesome!
I bought it for $84 as oppose to the original $108.
The Sedu Revolution would be $115 as oppose to the original price of $140. But the discount has ended..
Now that we're officially in a recession, every penny saved counts :)

Got 2B Smooth Operator Lustre Lotion Smoothing 6.8 oz.

Got 2B Smooth Operator Lustre Lotion Smoothing 6.8 oz.

So with the sale at CVS this week, I also picked up the Got 2B Smooth Operator Smoothing Lustre Lotion.
What really caught my eye was the packaging.. it's very feminine and even has a cute little charm you can detach after you use up all the product.
I was really excited to try out this product and this smells almost like the one below. (well.. they're from the same company. no surprise). However, this spray has UV protection in it so it's a little better for your hair.
AS for size, this is 2oz less than the Got 2B Crazy Sleek... so it's really up to you to decide which product you want to buy. I recommend both as because they both make my hair really soft, smooth, and adds shine.

You can find this at your local drugstore for about $6 more or less. Definitely worth the price!

Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion SPF 15- Sensitive Skin

Review on Olay Complete All day Moisture Lotion w/ SPF 15 for Sensitive Skin

I've been a loyal follower of Olay's moisturizers for at least 6 years.
What can I say? I LOVE this stuff. It's just perfect for my skin and I can use it day and night without using a separate moisturizer for my nighttime routine. I love how this lotion does not make my face too oil and just makes it feel so soft. It even has SPF 15 so if you ever forget to wear sunscreen, you won't feel guilty. This lotion does not make me break out but everyone has different skin so I can't speak for y'all. This product even has Vit. E and Aloe and is 100% oil free.

Pricing: Around $12 but it really depends on where you go. Costco has a great deal though. 2 bottles for only $15. So if you guys have a Costco membership, go there to get the better deal.

Recommended: yup. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this and I've used this for a pretty long time.

Got 2B Crazy Sleek Blow Dry Lotion 8.5 oz. Spray

Review on

Got 2B Crazy Sleek Blow Dry Lotion 8.5 oz. Spray

So I went to CVS today to buy a gallon of milk. As always, I'd checked out the beauty and hair section.
I've heard a lot about the Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray and has always wanted to try it out but after browsing through all their hair products, I decided on the Got 2B Crazy Sleek Blow Dry Lotion.

Price: $6.29
Quantity: 2

How great is that? From Nov. 9 to Nov. 16, all the Got 2B products at CVS will be buy one and get one!
Great for this recession we're heading into eh?

Let me start off by describing the scent. It smells fruity and amazing! I'm usually picky about the smell of hair products but this one really satisfied my taste. I love how it just smells so fruity and kind of orange-ish. But don't worry, the smell will not last all day. It does go away after a while.

So what do you want to do first?
Towel-dry your hair after washing and let it dry. You don't necessarily have to spray it on dry hair but this is just my preferred method. Damp hair also works if you are going to blow dry your hair.

Ok so spray the product onto your hair and distribute evenly. Then.. if you're straightening it, section off your hair and start straightening a section. You should see some steam come out but don't worry.. that's just the product. After that, you should feel the immediate difference in the texture of your hair. It should be smooth and soft :)

Would I recommend this?
Yes!! I personally think this smells better than the Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray (I took a sniff lol).

So what're you waiting for? Go out and buy yourself a bottle (or two) and test it out!

Review on Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder

After testing out PF's Mineral Wear Loose Powder for about a month, I've finally decided to write my review.

First off, this product comes in a little nice dome shaped packaging. When you take the lid off, you'll see the attached brush. Underneath the brush, there's a layer of protective covering which will help prevent any spilling when you throw this into your purse. A lot of added security huh? Perfect for any female who's on the rush like myself.
Personally, I don't like the brush that comes with this. It's great for taking it out but if you're doing makeup at home, I suggest you use your own powder/kabuki brush. The bristles are a little rough and isn't very soft. It might be good for smaller areas you might need to cover up but for an all over face coverage, use your own brush
I apply this powder after I apply my foundation. It really helps set the foundation in and gives me a nice flawless look. I've noticed that after using the powder, my face isn't as oil as it used to be which is a definitely pro. This powder also contains SPF 16 so you won't feel as guilty if you ever forget to apply your sunscreen.

Cost: About $12 but CVS has those occasional buy 1 get 1 50%
Recommended? Yup

Physician's Formula Concealer Stick

Shade: Fair

I recently purchased the Physician Formula Foundation (Classic Ivory) at CVS and it had a little gift attached to it. Yep.. you guessed it. It was this concealer stick.
So they had one w/o the gift too but if you were in my shoes, which one would you pick? Depends I guess.
But anyway.. the prices were the same so I picked the concealer one to try out.
Let me begin by saying that I love this concealer. I know most of the concealers out there are a bit oily but this one actually isn't. It works well to cover up minor imperfections as stated on the packaging. I would apply my foundation and then use this concealer to cover up any dark spots I have. Sometimes I'll also use the Mineral Wear Loose Powder to finish it off. (I'll do a review on that later.)

This will costs you around.. $6-$12 I believe. I'm not sure what the exact price is because like I said, this came free with my Mineral Wear Foundation. I actually bought the Mineral Wear Loose Powder plus the Foundation together for around $18. If you go to Wal-greens, its only $6.50 or somewhere around there. (Check out their website) To get the better deals, wait until there is a sale.. and look in your local ads!

So would I buy this again? Definitely! I think it really makes my skin look better and covers up anything I don't want to be shown!

Thanks for reading this and please leave any comments.

Remington Pro Air Optima Professional 1875 Watts Hair Dryer

So this is the Remington Pro Air Optima Professional 1875 Watts hair dryer. I've owned this hair dryer for more than 6 years and it still works great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has long hair or short hair for that matter.
This hair dryer includes a straight diffuser which is great for curly haired people who want to achieve the straight hair look. I, personally, have straight hair but it's slightly wavy so this diffuser works great for me. It features a optima, high, medium, low heat setting. The first button you see on the dryer is cool followed by the on/off switch. One thing that bothers me is that when you want to use the cool setting, you have to hold it in order for the cool air to remain. Sometimes my hand will get tired from doing it.
This dryer does not have s 360 swivel cord but it hasn't tangled up for me.
I bought this dryer at Walmart for around $25 I believe.. I don't remember the exact price because it was so long ago but I'm sure it wasn't that much.

Neutrogena Skin-Clearing Foundation

Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation
So does it really clear your skin?
For me.. it doesn't really do that but I've noticed that after using this foundation, I broke out less. I don't really know if that was what prevented it but I do believe so. It does contain Salicylic Acid which is suppose to help treat pimples. It's also oil-free which won't clog your pores.
I found that this foundation is a little chalky.. It isn't as creamy as I like it. After I apply it, my face looked like I combined talc along with it and applied it. That is the one con I don't like.
The packaging is pretty nice. It comes in a rectangular bottle and is 1fl oz.
The smell isn't too pleasant but it'll become unnoticeable when it dries.
Cost" About $10

Again CVS, Rite-Aid, Duane Reade and other drugstore pharmacy are always having regular sales so look for them before you buy! you can really catch a great deal :)

Physician's Formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear Review

Physician's formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear Foundation.
So, what's the purpose of leaving the talc out? Well.. one thing is when you apply this, it won't give you a cakey look as oppose to other foundations that contains talc. It also reduces irritation and breakouts on your skin.
This foundation comes with an antimicrobial sponge but for my preference, I like to rip it out and use my own foundation brush. This works well as a concealer so you don't have to buy another product for concealing. It covers up my dark circles really well and gives it a nice flawless finish.
As for the price, its usually around $11-$12.. around the price of most foundation.
Check out CVS this week.. they're having a sale where you can buy one for regular price but get the second for 50% off. Rite-aid and Duane Reade also offer these type of sales regularly.

So do I recommend it?
Yes. Especially for Acne-Prone skin like myself.
I use Classic Ivory.. the closest match for my skin. But I'm sure Natural Beige,Sand Beige, Creamy Natural, etc will suit you better.

Any questions? You know what to do :D

Misecellanous

Hi guys
this post is sort of like a video response to Riza (youtube channel- BKkrgrl17).
We are all stressed with school and work right? You complain and complain but people tell you that it'll pay off in the future.
How?

With school, we study and take a lot of exams but when we graduate, we earn a high school diploma or a undergraduate degree. So why do we need that?
Think about it...any where in this world, companies, corporation get tons of resumes from people looking to seek a job. But they look for the most qualified ones to hire. Everyone is striving to earn a degree so they can afford to start a family and be able to take care of them.
And with a job.. we can buy stuff we want and desire.

Some people work more hours but get less salary than you. Do you hear them complain? Probably not.

So my point is.. be grateful for the job you have. There are always others out there who work longer hours than you but they don't complain. Why? because to them, it's a job and it's enough to support themselves and their families :)

Conair 2" Tourmaline Straightener with Straightening Pins

So.. what is this red thing to the left?
It's a Conair 2" Tourmaline Straightener with Straightening Pins!
I actually bought this 2 years ago.. at Wal-mart because I had a old Conair Styler which is purple and has all the different plates (crimping, waves, star, shiny, and straight). That one wouldn't straighten my hair and the crimping feature didn't work for me.. It just left my hair very dry and brittle! My first curling iron was actually the Mary-Kate and Ashley Straightener (haha) and that was even worse! That won't straighten a strand of hair and pulled my hair too. I can't say the Conair Styler didn't pull my hair but it just wasn't as much.
Ok enough babbling about my history with straighteners.
This 2" Straightening features teeth on the inside which is suppose to help your straighten. I really don't like that feature and wish I got one without the teeths. I found that it actually pulls my hair out as oppose to straighten it. Yes, it hurts which is why I don't recommend it. If you are on a budget and are looking to buy a drugstore brand hair tool, buy one that doesn't have straightening pins. And also.. buy one that is smaller because that can curl your hair too. Best of both worlds there.
I believe they have discontinued this product. (I wish I can write my history paper as fast as I'm writing this. Ok ignore this sentence) I got it for around $35 dollars.. I'm hoping to get a new and better straightener which is better for my hair. Still looking into it!

I won't update that often but do look for my posts from time to time.

Review on Curling Iron

Conair Curling Iron - 1.25 inch

Hi guys!
I figured I'd do a review on this product after using it for around 6 months.
First off, I don't use this curling iron often. If you are someone don't curl their hair too often, this will be perfect for you.
It features a 360 swivel cord and includes a on/off power button along with the turbo button. I like to use the Turbo button because my hair is very stubborn and does not curl that easily. The purpose of the Turbo button is that it'll heat up even hotter to help curl your hair. Pretty neat huh?
It also features a stand which is the metal part you see in the backside. This prevents your table-top or whatever else from getting burnt.
The handle does not get hot unlike some cheaper curling iron. My best advice would be to spend a little more (say $2-3) more on a tool that will be safer for you rather than buying a $5 for 3 curling iron. It's likely that they're produced poorly and isn't designed properly.

One thing I really don't like about is it that even with a lot of hairspray, it won't hold your curls.. if you're looking for a iron that will hold your curl all day, I suggest something like the Babyliss Titanium Curling Iron(found at folica.com and beautychoice.com)
